Ala Kachuu - Take and Run

Sezim (19) wants to fulfil her dream of studying in the Kyrgyz capital when she gets kidnapped by a group of young men and taken to the hinterland. There she’s forced to marry a stranger. If she refuses the marriage, she is threatened with social stigmatization and exclusion. Torn between her desire for freedom and the constraints of Kyrgyz culture, Sezim desperately seeks for a way out.

"SOLILOQUIUM" is a visual Portrait of one’s internal speech, flowing like a river of thoughts, with the intention of seeking truth.The alphabet of feelings, associations, fears, memories overwhelming our mind, impossible to escape from. It is up to us to give them direction.

The idea is to create an interior monologue and see where it takes you.

We don't notice our thoughts on a daily basis - they are intangible and fuse together with our „self” and pretend that they’re its voice. The strength of attention and manipulation - flashes of a stream of consciousness . .

Hide and seek becomes something more than just a game. A little girl is no longer looking for her friends, but for missing love and warmth.
